At Alicia's Inn in Sint Maarten, we understand that when you're planning a getaway to the stunning Caribbean island of Sint Maarten, you might have a lot of questions. That's why we've created this comprehensive FAQ page to ensure your stay with us is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Hotel

  • How far is the beach from the inn?

    It takes about 5-minute walk to the beach. 

  • What is your exact location?

  • Do you have any parking spaces available within the inn’s complex?

    Alicia's Inn does not have a parking space. Guests with rental cars can park on Cannegieter Street or in the limited parking on the Backstreet.

    1. Day- Daytime can be very busy in Philipsburg and street parking is limited. Paid parking is available during the day at $2/hour at Clem Labega Square or free by the pond side. 
    2. Night- Street parking is available during the night. We suggest parking on C. A. Cannegieter Street next to WIB bank to Gree Home as there is good lighting and cameras. Please be considerate and do not park in front of any entrances. 
  • Can I access the internet at the hotel?

    Yes, please ask the front desk for the wifi password. Wifi is complimentary. 

  • Are Housekeeping services available?

    Yes, housekeeping is every two days. 

  • Can I leave my luggage at the front desk?

    Yes. If you arrive before the check-in time, you can leave your luggage at the front desk. In addition, we can hold your luggage after checkout for 1 to 2 hours as necessary.

  • Can you book us a taxi to get us from the airport to go to the inn?

    At the airport there is a taxi stand. Just advise that you are coming to Alicia’s Inn. When you are departing Alicia’s Inn we can arrange the taxi for you. Request a taxi during our opening hours at least 15 minutes before.

  • Is there breakfast included?

    No, breakfast is not included. But there are numerous restaurants a few minutes walking distance from the inn. 

  • How far is it from the hotel to the cruise terminal?

    It is 5 mins by taxi and 15 mins on foot. 

  • Can we get beach towels?

    Beach towels are available to loan at the front desk free of charge.

Booking

  • Can I make a booking on behalf of another person?

    Yes, another person can book a room on behalf of the guest.


    Note the name and details must be correct of the person who will be staying along with the specific arrival and departure date. The person who books will advise who is responsible for paying the reservation.

  • How do I check if I have successfully made a booking?

    A reservation email will be sent to you. Ensure that the name, check-in, and checkout date are correct.

  • Can I make changes to my booking?

    Yes, you can make changes to the reservation before arrival. 


    Note that any cancellation comes with a 1-night penalty.

  • Do I need to print out my booking reservation?

    No, it’s not required to have it printed out. But please do have the reservation number with you or a digital form of the reservation.

  • How do I pay for my room?

    Payment can be accepted in cash, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), and bank transfer. Note the bank transfer needs to be received in the full amount prior to the check-in date.

  • Can I use my credit card to pay for another person's bookings and vice versa?

    It is possible to pay for another person’s booking. If you are not going to be there physically, the credit card authorization needs to be provided prior to check-in. Email us at info@aliciasinn.com for the authorization form to be emailed to you.

  • In what currency do I need to pay for my stay at the hotel?

    US Dollar, NAf, and Euro are accepted. For fluctuating exchange rates please contact us to request the exchange if you are paying cash. For guests with international credit cards, the bank will process that automatically.

  • What is the minimum number of nights I must book?

    No limit on the number of nights.

  • How many rooms can I book at a time?

    For group booking it is best to contact info@aliciasinn.com as special pricing is available if the group is for 3 days or more with 4 rooms or more.

  • Can I cancel my booking?

    Yes, you can cancel your booking at any time. To avoid any penalties, this cancellation should be done a full 7 days before the intended arrival date. Thus, on the 8th day, if the cancellation is made after this point, a penalty of 1 day will apply. 

    For groups: It's important to pay attention to the unique booking conditions for group reservations, as they often involve additional conditions like non-refundable deposits.

  • Can I transfer my booking to another person?

    It is not possible to transfer the booking to another person.

  • How can I ask for a refund?

    You can always ask for a refund on a prepayment, provided it is initiated prior to the non-refundable timeframe.

Rooms

  • What are the room amenities?

    Each room is fully equipped with awesome amenities including:

  • Do you have a kitchenette or stove in the room?

    There is no kitchenette or stove in the room. Cooking is not allowed in the room. There is a microwave in the room.

  • Does the room come with shampoo and soap?

    Yes, the room comes with dispensers with soap, shampoo and conditioner. 

  • Are extra beds available?

    There is a maximum capacity for each room to ensure a comfortable stay and additional beds are not provided.

  • Do the rooms have windows?

    The rooms do have windows facing the interior corridor. The building is situated between buildings and therefore there is no view of the street.

  • Is there a wardrobe in the room? Can I hang my clothes in the room?

    Certainly, each room is equipped with both a closet and a dresser to either hang clothes or neatly store them.

  • Can I smoke inside the rooms?

    No, smoking inside the inn’s premises is STRICTLY prohibited. Penalty is applicable if the house rule has not been adhered to. 

  • How much are your room rates?

  • Is there breakfast included in the room?

    Breakfast is not included, but there are many restaurants just a few minutes walking distance from the inn. 

  • Can we resell our rooms to others?

    Rooms cannot be resold or utilized for purposes other than lodging within the hotel. It is prohibited to engage in activities such as renting out the rooms or selling products using them.

Check-in & Check-out

  • Do I need to prepare a security deposit upon check-in?

    Yes, there’s a refundable $100 security deposit upon check-in. At check out, the cash deposit will be returned, and the card won’t be charged if there are no damages and lost items in the room.

  • What is the earliest time I can check-in? What is the latest time I can check-out?

    Early check-in is possible if the room is available from 10 am. For late checkout the guest needs to check with front desk to see if this available on day of their departure.

  • Can I change my room type upon check-in?

    Changing rooms is upon availability. It's important to be aware that a change in the room rate may apply, whether it results in an increase or a decrease.

  • What if I do not return/lost my keycard?

    A fee of $5 is applicable when a key card is lost.

  • I am a senior citizen, can I apply for a discount?

    Currently, there is no senior citizen discount, but there are general discounts that are applicable to all when making direct bookings
